ABOUT
Isaac Liu is a self-proclaimed melting pot of cultures, coming from a European-Jewish, Chinese and Australian family. He's a left-handed amateur bowler. He appreciates a dry sense of humor placed nicely next to his growing collection of vinyl records. He survived an adolescent Vespa accident. And can throw an axe. Defying superstitions, he's an adoptive father to a panther-like black cat named Nuit (French for night... and pain). He's diligent about a self-care routine of chocolate and skincare. He could write a thesis paper on Star Wars. He's an avid shopper for all things vintage. And he loves nerding out on Marvel movies from the comfort of a good mid-century chair.
Raised an hour away from New York in Fairfield, CT, traveling into the City to see a Broadway show was a tradition for the Liu family. The Lius are rooted in the arts. With a father who is an educator and local theater director and a mother with a long career in the entertainment industry, Isaac learned the importance of art and self expression from a young age.
Isaac recently graduated with a BFA in Performing Arts from The Savannah College of Art and Design and signed with The Gersh Agency for representation. His recent credits include Todd Haynes' Cannes Feature May December starring Natalie Portman and Julianne Moore (Charlie's friend), award-winning comedy short "I Got a Thing For Blondes" (Luca), and The Play That Goes Wrong (Jonathan) directed by Craig Anton.
Isaac works to astonish the audience. From stage to screen, and behind the camera, his heart is in each facet of the project and his curiosity for the creative process shines in his self-produced work. Currently in post-production is "Shit Happens," Isaac's most ambitious project with long-time collaborators Ryan D'Souza and Ryan Setzer. Their most recent short film "FirstBorn," in which Isaac wrote, directed and acted in can be found in the film tab.
